OMG..since last wednesday.i had been in chilling mode. I go to have movie 'Law Abiding Citizen' with Cheryl, Leehua,Marcus during wednesday. It was a great movie anyway. Friday night we officially have a great chilling night. And we have christmas gift exchange that night that andrew and i never know. At the end, we end up giving nothing to them~oomg!anyway.. Since saturday we have couch surfer stay in our house, we spend the whole morning to clean up our whole house! i mean really CLEAN UP EVERYTHING. By the way. Oscar, the couch surfer from columbia is a great person!nice to meet him but i didnt hv much time to spend with him due to work. WE have 3d avatar during sunday and we have a final chilling night yesterday.. WHAT A WEEK~.now really have to switch it back to working mode~lolz

You thought the picture above is a great photoshop tool that i use to make this picture?no..is super darn wrong. The great news that i have today is my 50mm f/1.8D lense reach to me before i go to Berlin. Of course the picture quality is awesome. After i shoot picture furiously, i discovered something bad. The UV filter that i apply on the front of the lense cause the ghosted effect while shooting bright object(cause by reflection between sensor and reflection from filter)! IT damage the picture quality. You will think if the UV filter is not good, why not change another or just dont use? But if i dont use it, then there are alot of chance to invite dirt or cause damage to the lense inside. What will you do?

30 and 31 of Aug is Liverpool Matthew Street Musical festival. There are 7 stages being set up around the city centre of Liverpool.Acutally today i did have work, but i reject it because i think there are alot of chance to work in the future compare to this, which held once a year. Anyway, early morning around 10.30am we had go into the city centre because the first kinda famous artist singing is DUFFY~.Eventhough she looks darn old but her sound is alright. Anyway, We proceed to other stages for Robbie Williams. We went there early and catch some other singer shows like 'so Blondie' not so if you know about her. Then we had an hour of performance from the Gay bar and their theme is gay and normal ppl is equal(okay~~~).The main event is ROBBIE WILLIAM!. The whole space and road is pack till the police have to set barrier to stop crowd coming in. Luckily we went there early, we catch the first few rows in front of the stage.He is cool! After finish his show, then we rush back to the original stage where later on AMY WINEHOUSE WILL HELD!haha...alot of ppl stay there t wait for her show as well.The last picture is the picture showing the crowd toward the amy winehouse stage.!

Actually i being called to work as a cashier for three days continuously in this take-away shop due to the cashier is not free. The funny things were i made a lot of mistake!(but common, is the first day, espect me to know everything?ish) Anyway, i'm responsible to pick up call and place the order from customer. I always heard wrong order, or cant find the order number in order to place in the computer. As a conclusion, i literaly have my one night 'STAND' in this shop. I will be available tommorow. LOlz~

London Trip

Bryan and I decide to have a 1 day trip to London to look at AA degree show. Unfortunately, we are really late, almost 90 percent of the work is being taken down. So, we just take a look at the rest of their work. I not so sure whether we see those works are those from not nice one or just nice we see those not nice only. It is because is kinda dissapointed me!haha...is not as WOW as what i expected, it hink UCL really have wow factor in every students work. But maybe im wrong due to i judge it with a brief walkthrough only.

British Museum

After we went to AA, we go to British Museum which renovated by Norman Foster is just sit opposite AA school. The feeling when enter into the museum is really really AMAZING! is totally different from the picture that you normally see which is lack of the WOW factor without experience it. I think i will come back agian as it has alot of stuff that we can learn and look at inside this museum!is AWESOME!. After that, we went to Tate Modern by Herzog de meuron, Swiss Tower by Norman again, Millenium Bridge by Norman again, London Bridge, China town and all the places that normally tourist will look at. I didnt expectwe can really finish everything in a day!(is a real brief visiting each palces of coz!)

After watch the documentary of 'HOME' which talk about the earth and pollution and the goal of this documentary is to raise the awareness of the people towards the environment. If this documentary compare to the inconvenien truth by Al Gore, this more descriptiive.

The way of this movie approach mainly is using some image and some shortclip with some desription in order to touch our inner guilt towards the environemnt. Although i like the approach of Al Gore movie which is using two pictures from different year to show the differences and the changes of the environment had been made within such short distance years, i like this documentary more. It is because it started with describtion of how the earth form and how everythings work. It is really thoughtful documentary. The main point of this movie is everything in the earth are work with each other in order to create the balance and harmony. With the existance of human with just few hundred thousand years of history(in scientific sense), had destroy the balance that are formed by few billion years ago.

This is the Europe Conference which held in Bower House, London. The title of this time Conference is The Vision, The Person, The Living, and The Responsibility of a Serving One. There are 795 people had take part in this conference. There are 47 locality churches from 20 country in whole Europe. I really impress by the Body of Christ that manifest in Europe. There is some churches from Germany, France,Norway,Poland,Italy, Istanbul(Turkey),several africa country,...etc. Really a good experience to have this kind of conference.

I admit that i have been very busy and didnt have time to update my blog. I do agree ami- said this blog wil die soon. It is because sometimes im kinda lazy to update and sometimes andrew update in his blog already. The pictures almost the same while the story almost the same as well.so i kinda avoid to update the same event over here. Anyway, this easter break, i will basically spend my time going to church conference in London. But!Before going to London conference, i will spend a night in the Nottingham Bro Shi Pin's house. Although the trip not as exciting as Andrew my dear friend who spend his wonderful and 'unforgetable' moments in Barcelona, here is a small trip when i taking coach from Manchester to Sheffied and change coach to Nottingham and pass by Chesterfield along the way.

This picture taken in the coach shows how beautiful is the scenery. The mountain in Uk normally not so pointy as in Malaysia(which has tall mountain and rocky).

After a brief walk into Sheffied city while waiting for another coach to Nottingham. I try to spend as much time as possible to go around the city. I found out it really looks like what i read before in the brochure when i find which university that i should go. It is the safest city!OMG of coz man, the city seems very small, and congested, seems like alot of old man!There is alot of old modern building which is seems like more to brutalism age of architecture. Anyway, i judge it base on my 20 minutes exploration around the city.Cant Complain much^

When the coach stop at Chesterfield, there is alot of old brick building as well as new. Chesterfield is a very small town but the only thing that get to my attention-The roof of the Cathedral! The picture above shows the roof of the Cathedral is twisted and bend to a side. This is the first time i ever see such 'Gothic' architecture. Sorry for the picture due to the speed of the bus.

Paint in Gold color metal cladding with some ornamented silk as the facade as a sunshading. Serioussly Nice. Too bad, still in construction. The School of Architecture did exceptionally well in the very important research assessment exercise which is held once every five years. We have been graded as one of the three top Schools in the UK in the Research Assessment Exercise results released on 18th December. The Guardian newspaper ranks the School as third highest in the UK, only Cambridge University (first) and University College London (second) above it. More than 90% of the School's staff were submitted for assessment and 75% of their work was rated at 4* or 3*. Architecture was one of the very highest rated departments in the University of Liverpool. This is an immense honor for the staff of the School, and the research environment they have created.

Ha!the title is to describe the snow is getting serious. Thicker and thicker. My friend told me that last year snowing not even longer than 1 or 2 hours. This time is whole long 2 or 3 days. Global warming huh? The moment walking on top of the snow, i realise the beauty of the snow covered the facts of the ground. On the other meaning is, the snow unite the whole ground into a white piece of art. There is no differentiation between ground soil, tiles, asphalt road. Not only that, the white color itself is the unity of colors. Now i just realise, why the snow is darn stunning. The whiteness of the snow enough to cover the ugly side of everything.

Chinese NEW YEAR DINNER

We buy around 100 POUND! for our CNY DINNER. Obviously, WE CANNOT FINISH EVERYTHING. First day, we just finish 40 percent of the overall food with the hot pot. Second day, Bryan cook the remaining food for us to eat but still, we CANNOT FINISH. In the Third day, everyone of us is tiring to eat again. Andrew ask 3 of our friend again-Alexander, James, and Graham come to finish everything. There is no choice but to buy more food since left 20 percent food which is not really enough for them and us as well. Now, because of the CNY dinner, everyone of us scared of eating hot pot again.LOLZ

This is super duper stunning Cathedral that built in Liverpool. At first i thought it is a normal huge cathedral. However, it gives stunning feeling when you enter into this cathedral. When you are looking at the proportion in the picture below, it shows how great is the design is.

We decide go to the top of the building which we need to pay for 3 pound to have a overall Liverpool views. We have to pass through lift and walk some staircase where the bell are located below inorder to reach to the top. The panaroma view that i compose is the view that we take from the top of this cathedral. Damn worth the money!Enjoy!

Finally is done!anyway although they say the way i communicate and explain my concept and idea is hard to understand, at the end of the day is a good crit. spend like 1 hour to get both of them crit and udnerstand my things. Then they say no worries, normally a good scheme will spend more time on criting. We "PLAN" to go by 12.40pm that train to Chester but we miss the train after the stupiak Andrew incident of buying wrong ticket. Thus, there is no choice but have to wait for the next train which is at 1.11 pm. Anyway, we have alot of fun with the blurness of andrew.

Finally we reach Chester Station. Although the train station is not as grant as Liverpool train station, it has its own beauty as well. Two pictures below is the scenery when we are on the way to the city centre of Chester.

This is the Cathedral! which i not sure wat is the name is. Anyway, this building is quite significant which i knew it when i went to the Chester museum. It built long long logn long time ago. I didnt went in because of it needs to pay 3 pound to see the interior. Church man!need to pay for a visit inside the interior!OMG.

Picture above shows that the cities of Chester are greatly influence by the French architecture.Pictures below is the big river surround the chester this area. Nice environment huh?Later on i go on with my Korean Brother name Tim, go up to the wall(before that is a wall for defence).

When we went up to the wall, there is a old Roman garden located underneath this wall. It is because Long long long long time ago, Roman empire did reach here and conquere this place. Even the wall, the garden, and amphitheather is being built in Chester.

After 16 hours of sleeping, finally i fully regain my energy to continue my work.Shit, i miss the history class.Anyway, yesterday is really a good day for me. YEsterday crit actually three of us also got a quite good crit. THe lecture crit me everything i also answer them straight. At the end, the super duper mafan tutor(torsten) ask me:'how you get this little thingy(whole design)?' it looks complex but at the same time we cant crit anything. It looks very nice!Shit man.Damn happy...bryan can witness, i smile after crit till i go up to my studio i still keep smiling!walao..Anyway i like bryan design the most. The most daring. Anyway, today's crit was good! Unexpected! when I am presenting halfway, my tutor said this is a very succesful scheme! I wont say in detail due to too much to talk about but it is a very enjoyable crit. From now on, I have to work even harder than now!

Today we go for a tour of Liverpool Biennial which is an International Festival of Contemporary Art. This event happens about 10 weeks time untill 30 Nov and once in every two years. They will place the artwork at lot of places around the city. I just post some picture of the arts work.So, enjoy!

This artwork is shown in a film form. I like this very much. The way of filming this movie is film from 3 perspectives ways. The story is about a transexual old man wants to express himself in an unknown foreign city. The film fills full of emotion and is very touching. Two thumbs up!

I like this artwork as well. The artwork is set up in a old church which previously being bomb when in a world war two. They use empty bin to make it like drum and they use car rim to become the bell. The effect is exactly the same with those church bell! really cool

On saturday morning, Andrew and I woke up at 5.15am and meet with each other at Bryan place by 6am. Our coach depart at 6.40am and reach Manchester around 7.30am. The first destination that we will head to is Picadilly Gardens by Tadao Ando. I experience that this building is a very simple single story pavillion and contrast with the surrounding by all those high rise. It appears humble and it tackle the issue of circulation of the site by using axis.

Later on we pass by ferry wheels , triangle, and reach Urbis. In terms of plan, Urbis appear like a zaha hadid style cladded with green reflective glass. The method of construction is quite interesting as well as the interior floor plan. All of them gone crazy especially andrew and jason are taking photos furiously towards the building.

Next, we reached Manchester Cathedral which is a very old and SMALL cathedral compare to Liverpool.Anyway, we pay a visit to the cathedral and the interior is not really a big wow experience. i think is because of the height of the cathedral hvn't reach to a point that can gives impact to the user. The ornament is crazy!thats the first impression that i got instead.The wall, the window and even the furniture is crafted with very complex ornaments

We proceed to see Trinity bridge by Santiago Calatrava. On the way, we saw some building built with wow factor structure, and some high end residential apartment which is quite well design and look classy. Finally, we reach to the Trinity bridge. Before that, due to i think i drank the milk at that moring cause me have stomach ache and i settle my business in the hotel beside the bridge. Later on, we enjoy taking photos with the bridge ourself again and again, Andrew taking furiously towards the bridge and even lay on the floor in order to take the photo. (Good spirit, but need to upgrade your skill,LOL)

The picture below is Manchester Civil Justice building. It won alot of awards and being enlisted in the Stirling Prize awards. It is a very sustainable building and has the wow factor in it. Then proceed we continue to Manchester Town hall and there are few pictures show some interesting building facades on the way to the Town Hall.

We went to Gmex train station, Bridge water and later on we went to the Manchester Art Gallery which is the interior are renovated by some great architect. Bryan tell me what he perceives from the gallery is the old and the new part have the similarity in floor planning and difference in material only. It is a good idea of how to intergrate new to an old. Afterward we went for buffet for our lunch and we continue our journey to old trafford station where Manchester United Stadium are located.

We reached to the Manchester United Stadium and we have alot of fun there. We keep on taking a lot of Chernxi invisible figure picture with the stadium and we enjoy shopping inside the retail shop. What i can say is the Manchester people is crazy. They just sell all kind of things with a Man U logo. PEOPLE HUNT THE JERSEY LIKE CRAZY. Hardly can breath inside the shop.lols

FINALLY, we reach Imperial War Museum which is my main intention to come to Manchester. MY header really can tell what i feel when i stand in front of this building. Unfortunately, the interior feeling is kinda dissapointed and now i know why they won't show the interior when they introduce this building in his works. Anyway, when we get to the top of the building whihc is the 'fin' of the building, the feeling is really great. You should go and experience!

After this, we went to the Lowry. KInda interesting building although the overall building is petty symmetry in floor plan but the exterior is very different in every angle. After spend another hour here, we finally decide to go back to town. On the way back from Lowry to the station, we just saw huge crowd coming in an opposite way to the stadium because of the match will start soon. It was seriously crazy, you will know how it is when u watch the short clip!

Finally is chance to go to somewhere in UK. Manchester is the first destination that we will have our holiday there. I will spend a night in Manchester and will attend church meeting on sunday and will be back at night. Chernxi ,dont worry, we wont forget you! We just attend the talk of Farshid Moussavi. Her firm which is called Foreign Office Architects(FOA) had produce quite alot of interesting works. Anyway, I kinda blur what is her concept of design because she use alot of deep words .I think she is quite intellectual due to she currently teaching in Harvard Uni. Her works have the wow factor(the british usually said,not as creative as duh factor that yew kiong invent or the hidden duh factor that i discovered)in John Lewis building that she present today. There is a good thing about Liverpool Uni, they have alot of activities going on to keep students updated. Ian Richard architect exibition in our school, Le Corbusier exibition just next door, the Stirling Prize exibition located outside our studio,Stirling Prize Award Winning Ceremony held in Liverpool and the upcoming Peter Eisenmann talk as well as this Farshid Moussavi. I hope there will be Great Architects are invited in the future!Lolz

i have been thinking how can i celebrate for my first birthday in Liverpool. Yeah, this is the first time that i have to celebrate birthday for myself. The happiest birthday celebration that i have been is celebrated in Waylon's house. That time, Tiong,Waylon,Bibi,Peiyee,Peiyi,Andrew,Jia kang,Amily all together buy me a twelve different slice of cake and group it together become a complete round cake. Rainy day

These two days is a little bit colder because of these two days is a rainy day. Wind keep blowing, i will drink water and feel abit sore throat already. Anyway, today studio assign us assingment already. It is a two weeks assignment and for me i think is kinda crazy. I think i will be busy on the remaining days.Partly happy partly enjoy partly suffer.

What a day! wake up at 11am and i have my brunch straightaway. I intended to clean my room actually, but andrew said he will be in the city soon. So, i going out as well with them.One of our new friend from Malaysia, called Jason come along as well. Before we went to the city, we pass by a cathedral called Metropolion Cathedral where the Le Corbusier Exibition organised by RIBA will held. The arc are just painted with the Le Corbu logo(some sort of represent him) and we have out own sweet time there.

We went to the huge Liverpool shopping mall which called Liverpool One. I found out there is some difference between the shopping centre in Uk and the shopping centre in Malaysia. Malaysia shopping mall is like a all in one building but Uk style is more to outdoor. The Shopping mall eventually called the shopping street.

We went to the Liverpool 08 offcial retail shop which sell all those stuff related to Liverpool 08 European City of culture. In this event, they hired a Japanese artist to create a sculpture called SUPER LAMB BANANA. Kinda cute huh?This sculture is a combination of banana with the lamb and become a nice mutate lamb. We found two super lamb banana in this shop.

We discovered the Liverpool FC club official retail shop. I just found out how crazy Liverpool people was. They sell anything in liverpool logo, even the dog food bowl. We found some interesting stuff here even the Liverpool FC superlambbanana.

This is the most interesting part of the day. This is the first time, i see with my own eye of the crime scene. I not sure what happen to that guy, i just saw the police man and women caught him and ask for help to arrest the guy.This is the moment that i looking for.

I just got my timetable. Well, Basically i will be free after 3pm on monday and will be free after 4pm on tuesday and friday. Wednesday is abit odd, just hv 1 hour class at 9 to 10am then the rest of the day is free as well as the thursday is an off day. I think thursday is an off day is because of they want to allow us to have time to prepare for studio which is on friday. Is a good and well thought timetable, of course not as sucky as Taylors' timetable(arrange by 'him'). My tutor is Prof. David Oldsman while andrew n bryan is different tutor as well. He is a acoustic specialist and some climate specialist. Haiz...i hope he is as good as the others.haha..

It has been 3 days that i couldn’t online. Now i just got my house line on which is consider cheap for me around 175pound per year and up to 2mb speed. Not bad huh? I think i have to talk about what had happen in this 3 days time.

First day-The journey to Liverpool
I arrive at KLIA about 5.30 and after check in my stuff and roaming around is around 6.30pm. Then we have our dinner at Mc donold. Surprisingly, my junior come to send us off. IT is kinda touching due to our junior are still remember us, and our own batch students did not send us off. Anyway, we have our sad good-bye event there and off by 8.30 to the plane.

The plane take around 6 to 7 hours to get to Abu dhabi Airport. It is kinda sad due to their transit airport area is not even 1/10 of KLIA. Although the design of it kinda stunning at the first sight, the oomph is not there. We spend around 2 hours for the transit.

FINALLY, we reach Manchester Airport. When we arrive here, we spend around an hour for our immigration business. Then when we get out from immirgration department, we finally meet the real Manchester airport. We came out from the old part of Manchester airport, so is kinda disappointing. It looks like a garage area, so small, so untidy, and so pack with people, gaming area, stalls. And we wait for 2 hours for the Liverpool people come to send us back to Liverpool university.(Ass).Anyway. the good thing is, the weather is just nice like genting.

Luckily the philharmonic court (university accommodation)is just located opposite of my private accommodation. It names Agnes Jones House. I kinda like this accommodation because of its security is very tight. You have to do the security beep(door) for around 4 times in order to get into my room from outside area. The kitchen is fine, toilet is fine. Except the internet! I do not know why it will be like that, i cant connect from my room but others can. Anyway i finally got to internet due to the localnetwork that i set up previously from my house finally fixed. No worries now.

This evening, Bryan and i go around the city and university. My accommodation is not far from university as expected. We go tesco express to hunt for our food, go to city centre to look around. We found the black background yellow M Mc donold restaurant , we decided to have our first great dinner there. We order something different. The name of the burger is called Chicken Legend with Bacon. Sounds nice. Of course, taste as nice as the name. When settle our shopping for the first day, we went back around 7pm. I just figure out my charger is not with me but with Andrew(ish!!!). Damn. I could not on my computer longer than 1 hour. Anyway, i feel damn tired and accidentally slept around 10pm.

I FEEL SUPER COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!i freeze! When i wake up, my chest keep on vibrating, i cant breath well, i just know, i wake up aat 12.30 am. Damn. I faster go on my heater and keep drink water. It is because i got no blanket. I grap the wind breaker jacket and cover myself and warm myself. Tired and very sleepy. Sien.

Day 2-Exploring
Bryan and i promise go find Andrew today in order to meet him and get his contact no. (stupiak him didn’t give his contact no.)and my charger(Stupiak him and me as well because forgot to get from him)We go take some bus which is pass by his road there. We walk about 20 minutes to get to his accommodation. Then we found out he is away!!!!!Waste of our time and money. Then we ask the people over there to check where he is going. We found out ANDREW WENT OUT WITH A GERMANY GIRL. Damn. When his technique of courting girl become so good? We came and find him but he out with a girl. Both of us so sien when we heard of it. Anyway, we are great to know some place and how to get to his place. We take bus again back to the city then we start to shop and hunt for something else. We found Mark and Spenser, Topshop,Primark(Seed) and others. I bought Mark and Spenser pillow. Sounds like expensive huh? Nop, Mark and spenser price like Jusco in Malaysia. Anyway, we also bought alot of stuff back to our house. Today is a great day because we almost finish walking the whole city. The new part of the city is great (design) and the old part of the city looks great as well(Space,feeling).

Sien. I could not use my computer. I force to go out to walk again. Today ,along the Hope Street, there is a lot of stalls putting around like pasar malam. It happens at today 21 of Sept only. The Liverpool Royal Philharmonic hall is open day today. We can get in to watch their performance for free. I went to watch their cinema(45 minutes short clip) and their violin performance. After that, i went out to the city again. Today i think i know more about the city and the street and everything. Back to my own accommodation, wait for Bryan for half an hour (for some misunderstanding)and we off for asda supermarket. After 45 minutes of walking, we finally reach a green big building Asda. Like giant, it has alot of stuff. After we bought our stuff then we off to find Andrew again. We walk about 20 minutes or 30 minutes again to reach his hostel with all the stuff that we bought on our hands and bag. Then we wait for him and finally got my charger. What a day, kinda exhausted, but ok la...fun la. We can explore a lot of place.

NIKON D90

This is the latest Nikon DSLR D90. Kinda cool huh?Its finally officially announced its price at the Nikon Malaysia website. RM 4.5k include 18-105mm kit lense and RM3.5 k for the body only.It seems to be a reasonable price for me with its cool feature-the world first DSLR body built with HD movie recording feature.Yeah, alot of people crit nikon about this(mostly from canonian say this is a useless feature), and I believe, it is a plus for a DSLR. The most important thing is, the image quality that D90 produce is unforgivable nice. With high iso setting yet still produce less noise images are the major plus for this DSLR. But damn,i have not enough money to get this DSLR! Who is willing to sponser me?ISH. Anyway, If i really buy this DSLR, i will buy the body only and go for Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 lense. This lense is a nice lense and i believe that it will never make me regret and im sure others who know this lense will agree with me as well.

The main reasons that i will choose NIkon D90 is
1) Cmos sensor(less noise)
2) NIkon lenses(can be use for ur whole life and quality is guarentee)
3) 11 points of autofocus
4) Top LCD screen(secondary screen)
5) Double dial( for iso,shutterspeed,aperture,bla bla bla..more convenience)
6) Live view(is not a major thing for me but also a plus)
7) Movie mode( an extra point with the money that u pay)
8) The Design( they good in melt people's hands on the their product,so that u wont easily get change to other brands)
9) Metering system is good
10) Active D-lighting lo(sien)

My accomodation!

At first, i got my university accomodation is located at the GreenBank that area. The most interesting part of that area is super far from my university(stupid university accomodation location), which is around 3 miles away, 10 minutes driving, 1 hour walking distance(calculate from Google Maps(thx)). Thus, i force to find myself a nearer place. Luckily enough, i got a private accomodation place at Agnes Jones House which is require 7 minutes walking distance to my faculty.LOL. SUCh a nice location, so i book it down without any deep thoughts. Now,i just waiting for staying there when i got there at 19th of Sept!.
